Precise long
term treatment of
andropause disease
with androgens stabilize the
prostate.
PSA
(Prostatic
Specific Antigen) is a protein secreted
by the
prostate glands situated in the prostatic
musculature .
Its rate in blood is lower than 4 ng (nanogram)
per milliliter.
PSA is not specific of cancer prostate.
A rise in the PSA is observed in the event of
cancer (not always) but also in adenoma and in
prostate infection.
Prostate specific antigen
(PSA) total and free
Approximately 70 % of total serum PSA
circulate bounded to blood's proteins and 30
% in free form.
Tests
allow, either the proportioning of the total
PSA, or only its free fractions (free PSA)
or the bounded PSA.
Example:
|

PSA total

PSA free

PSA bounded ng/ml

Total proportion of free PSA/total PSA should be normally in general above
15%
Prostate specific antigen (PSA) and
adenoma of the prostate
The total rate of PSA
and the rate of the free form of the PSA can
increase in the event of
benign
hypertrophy.
In the first stages of
the
andropause disease
the fall of the
testosterone secretion causes the reduction of
dihydrotestosterone's production.
At the same time it can exist a hyper production
of estradiol (female hormone) and disordered
state of the prostate cells' biology .
These anomalies are
detectable by the study of the global
pool of
the androgens.
They can be corrected.
Prostate specific antigen and cancer
of the prostate
The bound form of PSA increases in the event of
cancer.
Free/total proportions PSA drop.
For example:
Total PSA 10 ng/ml and
Free
PSA 1 ng/ml
Free PSA/Total PSA= 1/10=10%
In USA
certain insurers
do
not refund any detection of prostate cancer with
PSA tests for preventive diagnosis..
The man after 50 years has abnormal cells (what
does not want to say invasive cancer!)
in its prostate glands.
At 60 years 50% of men have abnormal
prostate cells.
This rate reaches to 75% at 70 years and 100% at
90 years.
It is remarkable to note that the testosterone
secretion decreases regularly after 50 years
(and sometimes even before) causing consequently
the fall of the production of
dihydrotestostérone (since this one comes only
from the transformation of testosterone) in
parallellism to the abnormal transformation of
the prostate cells .
The normal prostate
cellss do not
multiply
abnormally with
male hormones which do not modify the activity
of their telomerases
The test of an isolated PSA is not very
comprehensible.
It should always be
interpreted according to the study of the
pool
of androgens.
In this context it is possible to detect and
determine the cancerous transformation or not.
